Build a Website One Piece at a Time
The best tip for beginning Website developers is to take things one step at a time. It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the thought building an entire Website, so just look at each task in the process as individual projects.
For example you can start by breaking down the process of individual page construction.
Every HTML document consists of two parts, the head and the body. The head contains your HTML title, META tags, and other relevant data. The body area contains the part of your Web page that will be publicly visible. These two distinct parts of your document represent two separate steps in the building process.
You can break things down further by itemizing each major piece in the head and coding these step-by-step. For instance, you’ll enter your title tag details, style sheet reference, and the META tags you have chosen to use.
Do the same with your body. Create your main table or div elements, and then slowly work your way inward.
Save your progress after each tag or attribute you enter. This will allow you to avoid the chaos of having to start over in the event your work is interrupted by a power surge.
Also, you can leave hard return spaces between lines of code in your HTML editor. These won’t show up as extra spaces on your public HTML page, and they make it easy for you to find specific areas when you need to make changes or updates.
And you can use the comment tag to make notes to yourself that will only be visible when viewing the raw code. This is helpful for breaking the document up into more manageable sections.
The comment code looks like this:
Through practice you will begin to see the overall document clearly. The initial sense of anxiety and confusion that comes from opening a piece of raw code and trying to find your way around will pass.
Once you get the hang of building individual pages in a piece by piece manner, you can adapt this way of thinking and working to your overall site development. Identify everything you’ll need to do to get your ideal site online and itemize this entire project into multiple smaller task sets.
For example:
- Graphics template
- Primary navigation
- Site content
- Adsense blocks
- Blog installation
- Audio effects
- Embedded video
- Opt-in forms
-And so forth…
Any project quickly gets easier when you break the whole up into sections, and this is especially true of the sometimes tedious and time consuming job of building an entire Website. Once you get a fluid system together you’ll be able to work more quickly and with fewer mistakes.
And when you have a proven, systematic approach that has worked for you on your first site, you’ll be able to apply this to the next project. With a little tweaking and fine-tuning you can easily come up with a generic project template and a set of module files that allow you to tackle even the biggest of projects in relatively short order.
Finally, a Quick and Easy Way to Build Mini-websites
Many Internet entrepreneurs find they have lots of great ideas for making money on the web. Often, these don’t connect well enough to share a website – at least without diluting the impact and uniqueness of each product or service. Plus, the more quickly you enable a consumer to take action, the more likely they are to do so. It’s also common knowledge that dedicated, separate websites are more likely to attract more qualified leads.Unfortunately, many online business owners don’t create mini-sites as often as they should. Worse still, they delay launching a great product or service idea because they think it will be difficult, extremely time consuming or require expensive, complicated software to get a new website up and running. Fortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Search Engine Optimization expert and author Jim Edwards has come to their rescue with Mini-Site Creator. Even people with no web design experience can use this simple process to create everything from instant one-page sales letters to forced opt-in “Squeeze” pages and Affiliate “Pre-sell” sites.Edwards provides step-by-step, easy to follow instructions so one need only have a working understanding of Microsoft Word and know simple commands to develop and implement his or her own mini-sites in literally five minutes or less. Further, Edwards offers a wealth of information on what mini-sites are, why one would want to build them and how to use them quickly to generate income and run a business on autopilot.Version 2 of Mini-Site Creator is now available. Start Your Own Internet Business By Making Your Own Website A Brand
You, who are in the process to start your own internet business, may start with this question. Now when you have built your own website how do I get targeted traffic? How do I get people informed that it is online? Is it expensive?
You start your own internet business and you are looking for free ways to advertise your own website like: traffic exchanges, classified ads, forum posts, banner exchanges etc. I do not say these are bad ways, but the personal touch will miss totally.
There is one way, which will bring free targeted traffic and will build brand and that is the article marketing.
You can write articles even you are in the process to start your own internet business. Articles are the most sought information online, which means a good chance for your own website.
You may ask, where you find the topics. The answer is closer than you can imagine. From your own experience. When you start your own internet business and try to drive traffic to your own website, so do thousands and thousand of other internet newbie marketers too.
Think how big credibility you have, when you can speak from the experience. The newbies are listening. Your own experiences are interesting, especially when you tell them honestly with all the details.
Take the first step. Write an article about how to start your own internet business. Just do it! It do not have to be the Pulitzer Prize winner. Just make sure it offers useful information to the newbie reader.
Take the second step. Add a Bio Box in the end of the article. When you start your own internet business, the Bio Box link conducts the reader to your own website. It also tells your name, the reason why you are the expert and why the reader should visit your landing page.
Take the third step. Forget now the keywords and other technical things and check that the content is enthusiastic and has zero grammar errors.
A good way is to sleep one night, then reread the article and make the finetuning. This is very important, because even one error ruins the credibility of the article.
Take the fourth step. The process to start your own internet business gets power, when you submit the article to thousands of directories and sites using some wide distributing service. Now people will get the news about your own website.
Allow people to copy the article, if they leave the Bio Box as such. You will be surprised at the extra traffic you will gain, plus you will also gain links back to your own website from other sites online.
Make sure that the submission goes also to the niche directories, which cover your topic. This is very important, because people will go to these niche directories only looking for information on your topic.
Take the fifth step. The article marketing is an ongoing process to advertise your own website. When you start your own internet business, it is important but also later, because you will need targeted traffic all the time.
Over time, the more content you can create and submit to these niche directories, the faster your own website traffic will grow, the more your site will become a cash generating machine and the stronger brand name you will have.
Do you see how many effective things the article writing brings in one package: targeted traffic, backlinks, higher search engine ranking, brand building and your own education. I am sure that when you have started your own internet business, you want to win the marketing war and to make your own website a success story.
Can you Build a Website On a Limited Budget
Build it and they will come!
One statement that I would advise to ignore anyone believing that is truly up there with the fairies.
Right first things first the above question has been asked to me more times then I have fingers and toes so to hopefully aid new business owners to the internet I wrote this.
The first thing you will need to do is learn a little basic html trust me it will help you out bucket loads in the future and find a good WYSIWYG editor if you are lucky enough you may already have Front Page if not you can get a free trial of some great editors out there. Next find cheap website script from one of the auction sites I brought a full web site script for £2 of Ebay a search of any of the major search engines for GPL or open source scripts will throw up quite a few scripts.
Next you will need a good FTP program to upload your script to you webspace. Cute FTP is one of my favorites and is easily laid out, great for beginners again you can get a free trial so once again costing you nothing.
Once you have found a good script read the read me file in detail obvious I know but you would be surprised at how many don’t.
Now this is where knowing a small amount of HTML will come in handy if you have brought a script or got a open source script chances are hundreds of other people have to I would say take some time in just making a few changes adding you logo change the colors around a bit, maybe add a link page or add a remotely hosted forum to your site all you have to do is a basic HTML link pointing to where your forum is and you have a forum (this is where knowing a small amount of HTML comes in handy. Some open source sites come with support forums take the time to read them they can be greatly beneficial.
Next Domain names there are sites that offer free domain names and sites that offer sub domain names but I would say buy one they are cheap enough but remember try to avoid domain names that are too clever for there own good like Mi11iondollarhomepage.com you notice that there a two number ones in there looks good but try advertising that on the radio or two people talking about your website chances are when they type in your address they won’t find it. Keep it simple, keep it short as you can.
So you’ve got your site up and running it all works properly but wait you have no traffic! This is where you will feel frustrated and at times and will even come close to giving up but I advise you don’t, it will take time but eventually it will pay off. Now what I am going to say will have some people spitting out there dummies especially those overpaid so called gurus of the internet. Paying loads of money for advertising is not a guarantee that you are going to have loads of traffic come flooding in. The only way to do that is search the internet for forums that offer advice on advertising and spend time not money on building up your reputation and your links to your website.
If followed the above will cost you next to nothing and a whole load of sleepless night and a lot of time
Good Luck with your venture.
And Remember fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
How You Can Make Profit From Website Marketing
Making Money online is a very popular source of income now a days. If you have a business and you wish to make money with this business online then you have to promote your business. Unless and until you don’t promote your product or your site people who search things through internet will never come to know about your company or your product. So the best way to promote your product is website marketing.
Website marketing always provides the best opportunity to market your website in different search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN etc. Through the search engines you will get the desired traffics.
The website will contain the company profile, what product you sell and other related information which will help people to buy the product from your site. SO website marketing will definitely help to get huge profit. But many people don’t know the right way to do website marketing.
The very first thing you have to do for website marketing is to have an attractive yet a simple to navigate website. Always remember that the website should be user friendly.
If the website is not attractive and tough to navigate then naturally the visitors will not be interested towards your site. The best way to get traffic is getting better search engine ranking. If the search engine ranking is good then automatically you will get good traffic. For good ranking you need to do search engine optimization for the site. Other methods are Pay Per Click, Articles, Blogs, Affiliate Marketing, E-mail Marketing and many others.
Another important thing while doing website marketing is having photo gallery of products. Photos of the product are the best illustrative example of the product. If the look of the product is good then people will naturally get attracted to the product and they can really turn into your customers. So site design is the important part of website marketing.
Another way to make people aware of your product is by offering them the free information about their product. People always like free things. It’s a general tendency. If you distribute your product information in free then people will know about your business and your product. Once the people get aware of the product and get interested they will turn into customers, thus making profit for the company.
These are the best ways to make business from website marketing. IF you can use these suggestions properly then definitely you will gain profit from your online business.
It is always better if you plan these strategies with professional website marketing companies. They will show your more and more innovative ideas. Moreover if the company is a local one then you will get the advantage of supervising their work. For example if your site or company is in Florida then you should always try to get Florida Website Marketing companies.
So we can give another names website marketing i.e. Online Marketing or Online Advertising. This marketing is not different from Direct Marketing. Moreover this marketing also has the same Key Marketing Task.
12 Tips for Designing an Artist Website That Showcases Your Art
Summary Here’s the scoop on what you must know when designing a website to showcase your art, impress galleries, and win over collectors. Learn how to avoid the mistakes most emerging artists make when creating their online portfolio.1.You need an artists website Any artist who can classify themselves as either “emerging” or “mid-career” will definitely benefit from having their own website to promote their work. At this stage of your career it is important to be able to have a place where anyone in the world can easily access and view your work. 2.Know who you are trying to impress Are you trying to engage a Soho gallery to sell your $20,000 paintings or sell $5 prints to children in Korea? That Soho gallery might not be impressed when they see your online-store selling prints and art cards – but on the other hand, you could make a very handsome living if you really knew how to market those art cards. 3.Make your website fit with your overall art marketing strategy A website is most effective when it is part of a larger overall marketing strategy for your art. This includes mailings, lots of in-person gallery visits and presentations, regular (physical) showings of your work, and developing relationships with the art world. An effectively planned website can greatly compliment and simplify your other marketing efforts.4.There is a real market for art on the internet The internet is quickly becoming an accepted place to showcase your art to collectors and arts professionals. They might still want to see your work in person before they buy, but the fact remains: they saw it first on your website! Having an online art presence is very important at this time.5.Have your own website and a website portfolio service A website portfolio service (e.g. www.absolutearts.com or www.art-exchange.com is like an online slide registry. For a fee you can upload images of your work together with a bio, artist statement, and resume. They have many visitors and are a convenient way to make your work accessible to potential clients. The down side is that they don’t display your work well, and there is little flexibility in how the art is showcased. Your own website, on the other hand will require more work to promote, but you’ll be able to present the work in the most beautiful way. Remember the times you’ve been taken into the dimmer room in a commercial gallery? How that art which looked fairly good on the main gallery wall suddenly became something you had to take home? That’s how a good artist’s website should showcase your work. We recommend both options – they are a perfect compliment.6. Have a website that collectors and art professionals will enjoy Here are some common elements which most dealers and galleries would agree on for your website design: – Keep the site simple and elegant with the focus on the art itself and don’t overpower the art with a site that looks too busy- Avoid advertising such as banner adds or sidebar adds. If you must have them, put them in a separate “resource” section- Avoid complex effects like flash movies. In the time it takes to play your exotic entry page, your visitor may have moved on. Include your bio, artist statement, resume, contact information, gallery(s) of your work, contact information, and a pricelist. Showcase your work beautifully You need to have visual design skills to create a beautiful artist website. Here are some points to get you started:- Most Important: Use high-quality, professionally-photographed images. Excellence in, excellence out!- Keep the website simple and elegant with the focus on the art.- Create multiple galleries to compliment the work – just as a good physical gallery would do.- Choose colors that compliment (not overpower) the work. Think of the colors you would use in a physical gallery to showcase your work – neutral colors like crème, white, gray, and good safe choices.- Think “minimalist” not “busy” for the layout. – Keep your copy (text) brief. Let the art speak for itself! 7.Bring collectors and galleries to your website Its no use having that stunning website sitting in hyperspace. Make it work for you! Here are the ways to bring quality visitors:Search Engines: If your website has been well optimized for search engines, a search on your name or your style of art should bring up your website in the first few pages of results.Letters of Introduction: A letter of introduction sent to a gallery or dealer is a very effective way to bring a qualified visitor to your website. Better still is to include a brochure or postcard of your work with the letter.Advertising online or in magazines: For example, if your art is minimalist and modern in style, a banner add on an interior design website focused on the same minimalist ethic could draw a lot of traffic to your site. You need to be able to sell your work on the internet. But there are many ways to do it. More important than anything is that you have clear and up-to-date contact information on your website. If a buyer likes your work enough to bring out their checkbook, they will normally be happy to call you to close the sale. It’s also handy to be able to sell directly from your website, especially if you sell lower-cost reproductions. There are simple and cost-effective ways to do this.8. Think again before designing your own website. – Have you really added up the total cost? Here are some questions to consider before you start designing:- Do you have visual design skills/training?- Can you wait several months for the site to be ready?- Can you afford to give up a month or more of your valuable artist time?- Do you have all the computer software and the relatively-new computer needed to build a high-quality website?- Are you fully trained in your design software? Can you answer “Yes” to all of the above? If so, you might think about doing it yourself. Otherwise, hire a designer!
9. Choose your website-designer thoughtfully The most important thing here is to remember what you are trying to create – a beautiful online gallery space to elegantly show your beautiful work – this is very different from building a high-volume website selling printer ink cartridges and paper rolls!Look for the ability to design a space to present your work. One way to do this is to find artist websites that you like and then contact the artist to get the name of their designer. 10. Know what you should pay Artist’s website development prices range from a few hundred to tens of thousands of dollars. Typically, bigger design firms have larger overheads and will be significantly more expensive. On the other hand, Joe down the street can probably build you a website for $200 – but you probably don’t want that website! At Beautiful Artist Websites we have packages ranging from $700 to $2000 for simple elegant artists websites with different levels of functionality. We can also develop fully customized sites to your specifications with prices based on requirements.
Work From Home Internet Business Which Runs on Auto Pilot for the Just Over Broke, Made Redundant, or Unemployed- Its Free to Join and a Free Website!
Dear Reader
When I started in this business I didn’t know anything about how to make money on-line until I got into this. Its so easy it runs by itself. All you need to do is to get people to your free website which you get when you join for FREE. Then you just need to get traffic to your website. My Sponsor introduced me to this business on 5th January 2009. It was a bit slow to start with until he showed me how to generate referrals and income. So I started paying for email advertising, articles and doing you tube videos to promote my business. Well now I have got to 52nd place in the Top 100 leader board which means that I will earn £126 every single Monday. This figure is going up about £30 per day so eventually I will be as successful as my Sponsor. When you join for FREE and read the report which will explain the business go to the Home page and check out my sponsor’s earnings of £1211 per week and check out my position under Richard Stanley.
As soon as your sign up and read the report you can then start what I did and use you tube videos, face book and other social networking sites. You will need to then upgrade which will be about £7 per week to start earning an income every Monday. Then when people sign up under you then need to convert them in order for you to earn. I think this is very low afforadble way to set up your own business when you think that you get a free website as well. Also most businesses on line will charge you £5000 to set up a business and give you ideas to accomplish your own internet business. So its a great way if you want to make money on-line and you can’t be bothered with all the technical jargon and information overload.
Can you imagine living the life you really want and having the time to spend with family, friends and loved ones.
